Torrance Symphony

Music stimulates the mind like nothing else. It is a critical enhancement to traditional education and one of the key elements toward educational success for our youth. Music students are successful in school and in life. Unfortunately, in today's budgetary environment funding for music education is severely in decline, limiting its availability for our youth. The North Torrance Youth Musicians Ensemble or "nTyme" (pronounced "in time"), was founded in June 2007 by a group of passionate parents and educators as an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) California corporation.
While initially formed for the youth of the North Torrance area, nTyme has grown and now has students from all across the South Bay and beyond. We pride ourselves in providing a well-balanced musical and performance experience, and offer programs for all ability levels, from beginning to advanced, ensembles to orchestras and speciality groups. Every year our groups participate in concerts and music competitions, earning numerous group and individual awards. In additiona, our programs are intended to help students feel good about themselves, provide positive role models and instill the importance of music, team work and helping others.
nTyme represents the collaboration of parents, educators, family and friends all working to create a positive music educational experience for youth from preschool through high school. We continue to grow only through the generosity of our volunteers, donors and fundraising supporters.
